A little over a week ago, we got a puppy from my boyfriend’s brother.  To be honest, I was not entirely pleased with the idea at first as I’ve never been what one would call a dog person. But then my fella texted me the following picture and my heart melted.  Meet Ender! (Yes, named after Orson Scott Card’s main character in Ender’s Game.)

Meet Ender

Ender!

He’s the most chill dog I’ve ever met and that goes a long way toward making me, if not a dog person, then an Ender person.  The worst problem at the moment, and it’s not even that much of a problem, is getting Ender and our three cats to get along. So far there have a been a few cat paws swiped at his nose, but nothing major.  The cats have no idea how big he’s going to get, but they’ll learn that sooner than later I think.

With this new addition to our family, I’ve been thinking of all the crafty things I can make for him, of course!  There’s always a blanket for his crate.  Chew toys, perhaps in the shape of bones or possibly woolly sheep, which might be cute.  I bet I can get a squeak box to put inside whatever I make for him, too, which would be fun. He seems to like the squeak toys he has.  I can always make regular balls, too, to play fetch with.

A friend of mine also suggested pupsicles!  So I’ve been looking for recipes for those.

I’m excited about all the fun crafty goodness having a puppy will bring.  In addition to regular goodness he is already providing. :)
