Isn’t Strategic Serendipity an oxymoron?

Yes, it is. In the conventional sense at least. I view it this way though: when I strategically plan for things, I have more opportunity to experience the amazing things I didn’t plan for. I can relax with the craft du jour after dinner if I know I already did my chores that morning. I don’t have to scramble for birthday or Christmas gifts they were already purchased or made (I admit I’m still working on this one). If I save something that otherwise would have been thrown out, it will be used in a future upcycling project reducing my future costs and saving things from a trip to the landfill. The corollary to that is: if I find ideas and tutorials for projects now, before I absolutely need them, I can keep an eye out for materials and do some work a little at a time (this in particular is the spark for the Someday Sunday series of posts).
